Same AC97, different sound

[face=Verdana]]Some people hate AC97 for It sound so bad, while some people tell you AC97 is a
undiscovered beauty, and underrated very much.I have to say,IMHO ,it depends;

I happen to hear two AC97 soft cards, one with DA IC AD1881, and one with a
RealTek's IC. I listen to them with M1;

well, listening to the first one(home)  is really a bad experience. It sound much worse
than a CD-ROM. I promise I will never plug my M1 into it's speaker-out . The second one(work place), however,  do sound good. I usually listen to Pop from it and enjoy it a lot.

what I want to emphasize here is,  there is great difference between AC97 cards. I have seen a view in www.x-sound .net, which provides testing data to prove that well
designed AC97 card is able to do better than normal hard sound-card;

Even though, I can not stand any longer without a good sound-card, considering I listen
to radio with my M1 in the  most of free time; BlackGold is my near future target. any
comment about it? It get good reputation in www.x-sound.net.
