The early vs. late sound shows the significance of the reverberation in determining the total sound colour.
When the Late sound is low, more than 3 dB below the Full level, it is unlikely that the late energy will dominate your experience of sound colour.
When the late energy level is high, close to the Full level, then the room reverberation dominates the sound colour you hear in the room.
