想要接近MQA对time smearing的矫正效果，升频到768kHz仍然不够

刚订购了泉3。除了泉3，好像市面很难找到只提供NOS模式选项的解码器。新款美国MSB的产品也去掉了上采样滤波，其CEO接受采访时承认。upsampling会使得声音变刺耳。

Upsampling. Yes or no?

Honestly, it used to be yes--but now it’s a hard no. In the early days, upsampling in our products boosted sound quality. But as we improved our digital filters, clock technology, and DAC technology, it started to hurt. Therefore none of our new products have separate upsampling filters anymore.

A couple of thoughts on the MSB.

Filters

The one utterly crucial bit is the filter setting, as it can make or break your experience. The standard default filter 1 to my ears is painful and fatiguing. The unnatural pre-ringing in the linear phase filter 1 is very unpleasant. Filter 4 is a minimum phase filter and much easier to the ears. Of course everyone’s ears will behave differently, just make sure you are able to select the different filters for your preferred choice.

我理解为NOS模式不是为超频准备的，而是为了声音自然而放弃好参数。即使没有NOS模式也可以通过HQ超频到解码器最高采样率而跳过内置超采样

对绝大部分解码来说，构造决定了最后阶段的内置重建超采样OS是不可绕过的。除非像MSB和Holo Audio这样的纯NOS解码。

用HQ升频到最高768k进入解码器后，最后阶段的内置重建超采样OS如何再升频，先降频到44.1k？

技术方面我也不太清楚，重建的目的应该是直接变模拟信号进入功放，一般解码PCM信后好像都必须走这一步，我原来也是像你这样理解的，后来才发现错了。其实，严格说，HQPLayer 是上采样（upsampling），DAC内置重建的才是超采样oversampling，两者是有区别的，原理尽管一样。

仔细对比了HQPlayer PCM 1536khz和泉三的NOS模式播放，感觉泉3的意义就在于NOS模式非常顺畅好用，音色细腻自然，解析度高，很有自己的特点，适合大部分音乐风格，相当程度上打破了HQPlayer、PGGB一类升频软件的神话。

04年的老文章过时了，NOS自然但是指标很低

梅和泉3是个例外，所有的指标都是在NOS下测试的。

试验了NAA，无线传输PCM384khz和DSD256数据没有问题，看来以后串流是主流。如果NOS模式能过关，就没有HQPlayer什么事了。Tidal也是MQA为主，不用升频通过HQPlayer播放。

To put some qualitative numbers on all this, 10μs of time smear is roughly equivalent to that encountered by sound waves passing through 10m of air.
