布鲁诺瓦尔特1947年指挥录音的贝多芬第九交响曲。
女高音贝拉，女低音费丽尔，等主唱。
从中可以听出瓦尔特在指挥上速度变化的自由度之大。尤其是第四乐章，大有吉普赛俄罗斯那种胡旋舞演奏法的劲头。
当然，这个二战后初期的时期，还带有很多古代交响乐团的过度自由色彩。演奏员的个性化比较宽泛，还没到托斯卡尼尼整合性演奏指挥思想大遍及的时代，不大讲究效果的整合性。
但是，到了立体声时代为什么会出现很多节拍器指挥家，又把乐队演奏的整合性问题搞到了另一个极端。这应该是市场过度发达，突然出现的立体声音响器材大爆棚，给了社会极大的冲击，现在去听1950年代后半当年的RCA水星古典录音都会觉得保真度超强。很多人都成为发烧器材迷，同时也极大的促进了音乐厅的大发展，很多指挥家都有了用武之地。因此也造成一些想在指挥台上跃跃欲试的音乐人当了指挥，于是乎很多以前没机会的人突然有了机会但是基础跟不上，就必然造成基本指挥效果上漏洞百出现象的存在。
